Ten years ago at a Michigan artisan fair, Charlie fell fast and hard for a preppy skater boy with muscles and a wanderer’s heart. Cooper broke down her walls and built up her dreams for a life the two of them would share together.

Then Cooper walked away.

He disappeared from her life three years later giving her no answers and leaving her with a broken heart and a momentous company. Now as Charlie enters her own divorice hearing, she’s shocked to find Cooper, assigned as her lawyer and looking like a rigid ghost of the man she once loved.

While the two work together to save her fantasy-themed subscription box company from Charlie’s soon to be ex husband, Charlie tries to uncover the hidden timeline of Cooper’s life. Cooper balks at her attempts to reopen the doors to the past. He wants to hide from the world now more than ever, and is angry that the one person he was hiding from most was serendipitously brought back into his life.

As the trial nears, Charlie must decide to work beside Cooper and forget about finding answers to their past, or walk away from the support of the best law firm in Iowa and risk losing her only steady love, her company.
